Gas Purge Systems for Plates and Chambers
Purge Gas is often used to
reduce moisture or oxygen content in temperature chambers and thermal
platform covers. Reducing moisture allows operation at low temperatures
without dew or frost accumulations. Reducing oxygen levels can substantially
reduce oxidation at elevated temperatures. The gas used for purging
temperature chambers and thermal platform covers is typically nitrogen.
However, other gases, such as argon, carbon dioxide, or CDA (compressed dry
air) may be used as well. Sigma purge systems provide the mechanism to
deliver the purge gas to the thermal workspace at regulated pressure and
adjustable flow rates. Sigma purge systems can be used for applications
other than temperature chambers and thermal platforms.
Sigma offers two basic types of purge systems - these are:
Adjust-at-the-Tank and the
Adjust-at-the-Point of Use

Dry Gas Conditioning Options
Dry Nitrogen Conditioning
System - this stand alone unit conditions the purge gas temperature to
approximate the temperature of the chamber or platform to prevent the
introduction of gas at temperatures widely varied from that of the DUT.
Dry Nitrogen Conditioning Plate
- this fixturing plate is made as an
intergal part of an existing platform and conditions the purge gas to the
temperature of the plate to prevent the introduction of gas at temperatures
widely varied from that of the DUT.
