Door notches make it easy to load a configured and "wired" DUT (Device Under Test) into and out of the chamber. The ability of load and unload fully configured DUTs is not only a convenience, but a health and safety benefit as well, as opertors don't have to spend time bent over with their head in a chamber while attaching cables, pipes, or monitors to the DUT. Cable notches work equally well with flexible wires or rigid fixtures.
If you move loads attached to wiring, hoses, etc. in and out of the chamber often, the best option if often a "notch" at the front door edge of the working cavity where the door closes. Door notches allow loads to be moved into or out of the chamber without detaching having to release connections.
In the sample below a special rigid mounting jig was built for the DUT (Device
Under Test).
This allows
the technician to mount and attach the DUT to the test
monitoring
equipment
while it is
out and easily accessable. Once the DUT is fully hooked up the
whole
unit slides
into
the chamber with all cables attached, the door is closed and
the test can proceed.
