Apertures, or "ports" in the chamber walls are the most popular option for Sigma chambers. Apertures are made with a thermally resistent material, and when used in conjuction with the supplied foam plugs minimumal heat and cold is passed through the ports.
The least expensive apertures are round and are available in standard sizes from 1 1/4" to 4" (I.D.). Larger, smaller and custom sizes are available. Square, or rectangular apertures are also available. Apertures allow you to pass wiring and test instruments through the wall of the chamber, while maintaining the internal temperatures.
If you move loads attached to wiring, hoses, etc. in and out of the chamber often, the best option if often a "notch" at the front door edge of the working cavity where the door closes. Door notches (see below) allow loads to be moved into or out of the chamber without detaching having to release connections.
